Welcome to Winter Cove Farm: Your Guide to Growing Fruit Trees in Cold Climates

Winter Cove Farm began as a nursery and orchard in Maine, specializing in cold-hardy perennial fruit trees. After relocating to Massachusetts, we now focus on providing top-quality trees and expert guidance for suburban-sized lots. Our mission is to promote natural and organic growing methods, demonstrating the benefits of regenerative farming on a small scale. We offer a limited selection of trees that thrive in cold climates with minimal maintenance and provide valuable educational resources. Join us on our journey to create a greener, healthier world, one tree at a time.

Our Story

Winter Cove Farm began in Winterport, Maine, in 2014 as an in-person and online bare-root nursery dedicated to creating a naturally maintained orchard. We loved connecting with our customers and sharing our passion for sustainable farming.

In 2020, we moved to Marshfield, Massachusetts, as 20 years on a farm and our retirement and health insurance was lacking. Now, we’re excited to re-open online after 5 years of growing in suburbia, offering an online bare-root tree nursery, along with a wealth of information to help you grow naturally and sustainably.

Our Philosophy

At Winter Cove Farm, we are committed to natural and organic growing methods.

We believe in the power of regenerative farming practices to sustain and improve the environment.

Our approach is rooted in sustainability, aiming to minimize environmental impact while maximizing the health benefits for both our family and our community.

What We Offer

Cold Hardy Fruit Trees and Plants

We specialize in cold-hardy perennial fruit trees that are perfect for suburban-sized lots.

After paring down our own selection and trialing low to no maintenance on many varieties, our trees are carefully selected to thrive in cold climates with minimal maintenance.

In addition to our high-quality trees, we provide valuable educational resources that we hope share our experiences and knowledge to harvest healthy, poison-free fruit.

"But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."
Jeremiah 17:7-8
