As it’s name impliles, this apple can reach enormous proportions. Attractive fruit with broad, red stripes over a greenish background. Flesh is semi-firm and very white.
High quality and maintained a reputation as THE premier cooking apple for more than 100 years. Excellent for dessert.
Medium size, vigorous tree that often droops/weeps. Bears young. Ripens a bit at a time from late September into October making it perfect for the homestead orchard.
