The Rosa Rugosa Rose Bush is one of our favorite wild edibles on our farm. It makes excellent hedges at the roadside as they love the salt and sand from our long winters.
It produces the most fragrant single roses and edible hips in the fall.
We use them as trap crops for Japanese Beetles and the hips in our Elderberry Syrup for additional vitamin C.
Single canes will spread and fill in. To start, figure 1 cane per 2 feet.
