Medium to large, round, symmetrical fruit. Yellowish green skin with occasional orange flush. Some russet or pale dots. Firm, crisp, juicy, greenish yellow flesh. Peculiar, tart, refreshing, pleasantly acid flavor. Good for fresh eating if tree-ripened. Excellent for cooking and drying. Should be picked when quite firm. Good keeper. Long-lived biennial cropper. Triploid, needs a pollinator (in Maine you shouldn’t worry!). Careful pruning will be needed. From the earliest colonial times.
