The Northern Spy Apple Tree produces large, round, often flattened greenish yellow fruit with pinkish red stripes, a light bloom, and occasional russet patches. The fruit is fine grained, rather firm, very tender, crisp, juicy yellowish flesh and has a tart, aromatic, subacid flavor.
Excellent all purpose apple except for drying and cider. Easily keeps into March and tastes excellent.
Very large, vigorous, productive, upright tree with a biennial tendency. Can take a long time to produce, but is well worth the wait.
