Can grow up to 60′. Beautiful, large shade tree that gives excellent edible nuts. Also known as White Walnut.
We have a lovely, large specimen in our woods, but these can be susceptible to butternut canker so we keep planting more.
Young nuts can be prepped for eating and the outer husk makes a great orange dye.
It is self-fertile, but plant two or more to increase your harvests.
3-6′ whip will grow up to 60 feet at maturity.
