Grow close together (20′) for wood production. Grow farther apart (50′) for nut production.
Locate them away from most fruit trees and gardens, the exceptions being mulberries, elderberries, and apples, due to the juglone that can inhibit competing plants.
Will fruit in 5 to 10 years in moist, well-drained soils.
1-3″ tall, 2 year old seedlings, needs to be replanted when young due to long taproot. Perfect for woodlands or edge of property.
