PawPaw Seedling Asimina triloba
This greenish yellow fruit is almost black when ripe.
It produces 3-5″ fruits that weigh around 8 oz each. They hang 3-7 per cluster. Fruit has a soft, yellow pulp with banana custard flavor. Eat fresh or use in cooking. Large, tulip-shaped purple flowers.
Multistemmed, deciduous, thicket grower prefers rich, moist soil along shaded river banks. Needs shade and can handle full shade.
Zones 4/5-9, do not plant in frost pockets. Source trees are from New England.
2-3′ bare root seedlings (these are not grafted varieties, but can be used as rootstock if you want to graft onto them).
Best planted in multiples in areas where PawPaw are not naturally found.
