An excellent variety for northern gardens, this plum has an excellent flavor.

The Empress plum is a cold hardy, late blooming, long bearing tree.  The trees mature to 15 ft. tall and wide but are easily pruned to keep them at 10 feet.

The trees are a heavy producer of large, firm, and flavorful fruit.  These fruit ripen in early to mid September.

The Empress Plum tree is medium in size.  The skin is dark blue. The flesh is yellow.

The fruit is excellent for fresh eating, canning, and freezing.  It is hardy to Zone 5.

Late season variety, ripens early September for us in Zone 5.

Grows well in Zones 5-7.
