Heirloom Medium to large, tapered, reddish bronze fruit with a blue bloom. Firm, yellow, aromatic, freestone flesh. Rich, spicy, sweet flavor. Excellent for fresh eating. Erect, vase-shaped tree. Moderately vigorous. Heavy bearer. One of the best pollinators for American, Japanese and hybrid plums. If you want to grow plums, you want this tree both for fruit production and pollination. Developed by Dr. N.E. Hansen at the South Dakota Experiment station and introduced in 1911.

Zones: Hardy to Zone 3-8

Ripens: Late August to mid-September

All trees and plants are sold bareroot unless otherwise noted. Trees are approximately 1/2″ caliper, 4-6 feet tall, slightly branched.
